Kitavin Studio produces photo and film campaigns for fashion, beauty and luxury brands. The studio handles full production, creative direction and set design, from the first brief to the finished images.

Dmitrii Kitavin founded the studio ten years ago, in August 2016, as a set design practice. It expanded to Dubai in 2022 and now works across the GCC, combining production with creative talent representation.

Growing up
in Siberia

Dmitrii grew up in Siberia, where winter lasted from October to April. Snow on the ground, snow on rooftops, pale sky meeting pale buildings. For months, the world was almost entirely white.

Those clean, snowy spaces formed his love of a minimal image. He likes to leave plenty of white space, with a pop of colour that draws the eye. That balance still shapes his set design today.

02 / Marketing background

From marketing director
to set designer

Before becoming a set designer, Dmitrii worked as a marketing director. He wrote briefs, approved budgets and was responsible for campaign results. He also holds a Master’s in Marketing and completed postgraduate study in Social Psychology.

He brings that experience to each shoot. Before developing a concept, he asks what the product is, who the campaign needs to reach and where the images will be used.

03 / International work

From Moscow
to Dubai

Dmitrii began his set design career in Moscow, with Vogue Russia among his first commissions.

Hong Kong was his first international market. He arrived without local connections and reached out to Vogue Hong Kong. That led to his first international set design project and a successful collaboration with the magazine. He later lived and worked in Paris.

In 2022, Dmitrii expanded Kitavin Studio to Dubai, learning a new market and building local connections. His first project there was a Gucci × Adidas campaign.
